63. Module Introduction
Create a user experience optimised site homepage

Your site homepage should be the shop front of your site. It needs to highlight the key areas of the site and feel fresh and regularly updated. In this module, you will learn best practices for highlighting the content we have created on our site so that users can get quickly orientated without feeling overwhelmed.

In this module, you will:

  • Learn how to structure your homepage so that content informs rather than overwhelms (user experience front and centre!)
  • Provide a site feedback button to encourage visitors to tell us what's working on our site (or what isn't!)
  • Create an on-page 'Communication Hub' to let site visitors quickly see what's going on with news and events
  • Explore alternative layout options when you have more to say!
  • Run through the most common web parts that are used on homepages time and time again
  • Make the final touches to the site navigation
