28. Module Introduction
Create a Frequently Asked Questions user experience

A common objective of any department intranet site is to allow users to self-serve by providing accessible and intuitive answers to common questions. In this module, we will build an FAQ list where we can store and categorise all our questions and answers. And, of course, the all-important end-user experience, which will allow users to browse and submit new questions easily.

In this module, you will:

  • Create your first SharePoint list!
  • Deep dive into SharePoint lists (but only on the important stuff!)
  • Design and build a custom metadata structure to describe and categorise our questions and answers (you'll be a metadata master by this point!)
  • Create grouped list views to provide an easy browsability of all questions by category
  • Build a 'front-end user experience for the FAQ in line with the conventions outlined in previous modules
  • Create a button to allow users to submit new questions and display it on our FAQ page
